About

2018 – Our co-founders Tiffany Liu and Shinya Deguchi were brought together by “Investor Z” and they discussed the set-up of Generation Z Investment Club at a café in Hong Kong.

2019 – We set up our first program, the Gen Z Value Investing Program, and recruited our very first batch of 12 students. They came from Singapore, Malaysia, and Greater China.

2020 – We established partnerships with universities globally to further our outreach.

2021 – We officially incorporated Next Gen Investors Endowment as a non-profit entity in Singapore and launched the Next Gen ESG Investing Program.

2022 – We co-hosted the SMU Next Gen ESG Investing Conference with Singapore Management University’s EYE Investment Club. We also piloted our Investoon Game Show initiatives at Singapore community clubs.

2023 – We co-hosted the SMU Next Gen ESG Investing Conference with Singapore Management University's Sustainable Investment Club and built the Z Club strong, establishing partnerships.

2023 – We Launched the brand new Investing Tonight Show with our flagship Investoon and launched the Z Club Academy. It is also our third year streak co-hosting the SMU-Next Gen ESG Investing Conference, and second with the Singapore Management University's Sustainable Investment Club.

Meet the Team

Director

Allen XIAO

Allen is the Deputy Chief Risk Officer for Amundi US. Previously, Allen was the North American regional Head of Risk for Aviva Investors, the asset management arm of Aviva Plc in the UK. Allen is a member of CFA Institute ESG Verification Subcommittee and CFA Society New York Performance and Risk Analytics Group. He sits on the Steering Committee of GARP Chicago Chapter as well as the Advisory Council of Fellow of Canadian Securities Institute. Allen started his career in 2007 and has extensive experience in risk management for buy-side asset management firm. He is a CFA charter holder and a CPA in the State of Illinois. Allen received the Bachelor of Management degree from Northwestern Polytechnical University in China and completed his MBA at Willamette University with honors in 2007. He also completed his EMBA at the University of Oxford as a recipient of the Director’s Scholarship in 2022.

Gordon YEO

Gordon is the CEO of AP (Asia), Arisaig’s Singapore licensed fund management entity. He joined Arisaig in 2012 and has focused on Asian companies throughout his time at Arisaig Partners. Gordon was mentored by Lindsay Cooper (Founder) for two years, prior to taking over the leadership of the research process in 2017. For his undergraduate degree, he studied Sociology and Strategic Management at Singapore Management University (SMU). He has since obtained his CFA charter and is a Chartered Accountant in Singapore. Gordon also completed a Master of Information Technology and played an integral part in incorporating data analytics into our research process.

Business Manager

Persis HOO

Persis is the Business Manager of Next Gen Investors Endowment.

She graduated from the Singapore Management University with a Bachelor of Laws and practised for a few years before founding her own startup. Outside of work, Persis is also a young mother and believes that women and mothers should pursue financial independence through investing.

Co-Founder

Shinya DEGUCHI

Shinya is the founder of Star Magnolia Capital, a multi-family office based in Hong Kong and Shanghai. He is also the Advisor and Co-Founder of Generation Z Investment Club. Previously, he was the Director of Research at Cook Pine Capital. Shinya specializes in asset allocation, manager due diligence, fraud detection, global macro analysis, and family office management. He holds a B.S. in Economics from The George Washington University.

Tiffany LIU

Tiffany Liu is the CEO and Co-Founder of Next Gen Investors Endowment. Tiffany is also the Senior Associate of multi-family office, Star Magnolia Capital. Tiffany received a dual bachelor’s degree in international Relations and English Language from Tsinghua University and is a recipient of the Singapore Federation of Chinese Clans Scholarship and The Beijing Municipal Government Scholarship for International Students. She holds an MBA from the University of Oxford.
